30 days til I become a Dirty Girl...

As I lay here getting ready for bed I realize it is 30 days to the Dirty Girl.  (I have a "regular" 5k 5-11 also).

Today was able to walk 4 miles in 1:18 so not too bad but really, really want 4 miles under an hour.  Gotta keep working at it.

Nervous about the Dirty Girl.  Grace is not one of my best attributes but I  gonna do it and be proud no matter how clumsy I look.  I am doing a lot more than the Me of the past 10 years and I am determined this time to change and not be back here ever again!!

Fear is just an excuse!  I can do this and will be proud to be able to say I'm a Dirty Girl!!!'

My SI Joint is a PIA

Things that annoy the HELL out of me.  I am trying really hard. Trying to exercise, eat better, improve my sleep and dejunk my house.  (No, that is not what is annoying me....)

So, last weekend 1st 5k Saturday and cleaned the basement and repainted by bathroom ceiling Sunday.  Now 2 days of horrid nighttime SI joint pain/sciatica.  So, backed off a little and just doing flat level walking at work.  Have session w/ my actual new personal trainer Thursday.  The one last week was just an orientation.  Do I cancel?  Thinking maybe I will still go and see if he can give suggestions on what to do when it flares besides the obvious "DON'T SPEND THE DAY AFTER A 5K MOVING BOXES AND SQUATTING TO PICK CRAP UP OFF YOUR BASEMENT FLOOR YOU IDIOT".

Next 5k is 2 1/2 weeks away and I totally want to beat my last time.  Gotta get this pain to stop so I can sleep. 


Other bitch of the day.  I am doing lots of going down stairs at work and some up.  (Usually down at least 26 flights and up 5-10).  Toning up-Yes, seeing changes in my body Yes.......  Bitchy part-- MY PANTS ARE GETTING TIGHTER BECAUSE MY THIGHS AND BUTTE ARE GETTING BIGGER DAMN IT.

That will be the other discussion for the Trainer Thursday.

Panties?

Yes, I am going to write a blog post about Panties........  (Lord I hope my Dad has not started reading this.  If so, please skip this post.)  I was looking through the pics the event organizer posted today and there I am..... with a HUGE Wedgie.

Now that I am entering the realm of exercise that makes one sweat and move about I am finding that my normal everyday underwear just aren't doing it.

Just spent 15 minutes reading reviews on workout underwear...........  Need one that does not give me sweaty spots on my pants, doesn't give me a wedgie from Hell and if it gives my booty a little lift...that is a bonus.

SO-- any of you gals who happen to be reading my blog.... what are your favorites?

Race #1 Shelter Inc 5k

First 5k of the 45k for this year is in the books.  Did I have a crazy fast time.... Nope.  Did I have a  pretty damn good time?  I think so.  Waiting for the official time but the App I use showed just under 55 minutes.

MapMyRun shows my splits as follows:
Mile 1 14:34 min/mile

Mile 2 16:19 min/mile
Mile 3 16:26 min/mile
Total time 54:38.
(It also says I went 3.44 miles so....... not sure what to think on that.)

The weather was a bit brisk (34 degrees) and I still need to learn how to breath better.  New shoes made all the different in the shin pain.

I even got an award..... 1st place in the Clydesdale Femail Open C/D Category.  (Walker and based on age/weight.......  not too many women picking to be ranked on their weight.  I figured what the Hell!!!!)


Well, 3 weeks til my next event. Hopefully can get some good workouts between and lower the time some more.

(By the way.... to put it in perspective as it looks beautiful at the walk, this is what I saw when I walked out my front door...Nothing like a fresh snowfall before a 5k.)
